水烟筒于20世纪初叶产生于云南东南一带，
后在云南各地流行。一般长约80cm，直径约10cm，
以大竹筒或金属材料制成，筒内灌清水，
于距底部约25cm处挖一小孔，
斜插一木制管并以铜片镑口，形成烟锅。
燃吸时以下鄂和腮帮将筒上口封住，用大力气吸气，
使筒内产生负压，使烟气从水中进入筒内，
发出“咕噜咕噜”的声音.
This "ZiTan" cigarette barrel is unique in itself. The Cigarette barrel originated fron the North-East of Yunnan during the early 20th century, and has spreaded thru' the whole Yunnan provinces due to its popularity. Water is poured into the barrel acting as filter when one smokes, producing a guggling sound. It is usually made of bamboo or woods, and about 80cm long with a small pipe protruding about 25cm from the base. |

象牙果（COROZO NUT）是主要生长在南美赤道附近的一种名为TAGUA椰子树的果实，该树生长速度非常缓慢，大概要15年左右才能结出纤维制的果实，果实要3到8年才能完全成熟。当果实完全成熟落到地上时被当地人收获，在热带阳光下晾晒3～4个月左右后，果实的明胶才会成熟，变成类似于象牙的白色坚硬物质。完全烘干的COROZO NUT可用于替代真正的象牙产品，因此当地居民又称之为IVORY NUT（象牙果仁）。果实烘干后用机器剥落坚硬的外壳，根据大小和质量进行分选，然后加工成精美的工业品或者雕刻成想要的模样。

the native name of "Corozo", is the nut of a 5 to 6 meters tall palm tree (Phitelephas Macrocarpas) that grows throughout the humid tropical forest of northwest South America.

紫檀亦称青龙木，属蝶形花科，亚热带常绿乔木，主要产于印度及马来半岛、菲律宾等地，我国湖广、云南一带也有少量出产。紫檀的材质致密坚硬，体重，入水则沉，一立方米木材可达703公斤。色调呈紫黑色（暗犀角色），微有芳香，深沉古雅，心材呈血赭色，有光泽美丽的回纹和条纹，年轮纹路成搅丝状，棕眼极密。无痕疤。用酒泡则紫色出，并可粘到碗上。其树脂或木材削片和锉末入药，可治疮毒。
Red rosewood known as Zitan is one of the most prized among the redwoods family. Due to its intense hardness and smooth textures, it is commonly used for carvings and furnitures making.
Zitan has been popular among the Chinese since the Ming Dynasty, and has been widely used for furnitures as often seen in the museums. It takes almost 2 to 3 hundreds years for it to grow big enough to be used for furnitures making, and has become rare species and sought after by many connoisseurs, especially, the zitan from India. |
